The joy and diversity of cider and perry – Saturday 20th February (from 1pm) on Zoom.
Have you noticed the buzz building around cider and perry lately? Fancy seeing what the fuss is all about? The Font invite you to their virtual pub for an introduction to the joy and diversity of modern and traditional ciders and perries available to the curious drinker. Let us send some exciting new flavours your way and we’ll prove the theory that there is a cider for everyone!
At this event you will have a chance to meet the cider makers themselves and get an insight into how they work their magic. Allen Hogan of Hogan’s Cider, one of Font’s favourite ciders, will be joined by Dave Matthews of Bartestree cider (author of CAMRA’s Good Cider Guide 2000), Chris Hewitt of our local Dunham Press cider and Lydia Crimp of Artistraw cider.
The Cat in the Glass is very pleased to be part of this exciting event and we have put together a cracking selection of ciders for you to enjoy. Whether you are new to cider or an apple aficionado, there’s something here for you!
We’ll be sampling a range of styles and flavours at the event to give you a real sense of the huge range that today’s cider and perry makers are producing right now. From light and lively to warm and wintery; dry and complex to sweet and interesting; fizzy and refreshing to still and mouthwatering – you’ll try an example of them all. And you can put your questions to the producers to learn more about the best kept secret in beverages – craft cider and perry.
We will choose 4 of the ciders to taste during the session and provide some tasting notes for the rest to enjoy in your own time.
