We make it our mission to source the very best selection of speciality beers and ciders from around the world, showcasing new craft breweries and independent producers as well as established names and old favourites.
As well as our quality beer list, we also stock an equally great selection of real cider from the UK and further afield, with an emphasis on organic, low intervention cider and perry.

The Cat Behind The Glass
Wondering what the inspiration is behind the name?
That would be Wotsit, the lockdown foster kitten. He arrived needing somewhere to stay for a few weeks, but basically stole our hearts (and ruined our furniture), so is now here to stay.
It was during an online Manchester Cider Club tasting that Wotsit tried to climb into a glass to investigate the contents, and the rest as they say, is history. Weird history, but history nonetheless…

MCR Cider Club
#MCRCiderClub is Manchester’s monthly cider tasting event and meet up, running in the city since May 2019. It is (probably!) the largest regular cider club in the UK and has hosted some of the biggest and best names in cider and perry.
The club currently meets every second Thursday of the month at 7pm. Whilst normally an in-person event at the pub, due to Covid restrictions the event has gone online and is currently held on Zoom with the ciders couriered out to ticket holders before the event.
#McrCiderClub tickets are advertised monthly in advance on The Cat in the Glass website and socials, plus Eventbrite.
At January’s Mcr Cider Club, we will be working with the newly formed Northern cider association; hosted by Martin Shallcross at the Grocers’ Bar, Cadishead. We’ll be showcasing Dunham Press cider, Brennans cider, SiDa cider and Udders Orchard. Tickets are strictly limited and cider boxes have sold out for this event, however a limited number of Zoom only tickets are still available.
