Description
Manchester Cider Club this month is in person at Fell bar NQ, 35 Dale street, M1 2HF. This will be on Thursday 9th January from 7pm with James Finch (Chapel Sider), Jack Toye (Toye Cider) and Hoe Hill Orchard.
Insights into starting up as a small aspirational cider producer.
Three cider producers from the East of England – Chapel Sider, Toye’s Cider and Paul Morris (Hoe Hill Cider).
James Finch, Chapel Sider, Lincolnshire
Jack Toye, Toye’s Cider, Norfolk
Paul Morris, Hoe Hill Cider, Lincolnshire
In 2020, James Finch, the original ‘The Cider Critic’ and founder of Cider Review, hosted a Manchester Cider Club for new producers – including his own first cider and introducing Andrew Williams from Seven Trees Cider, Berkshire and Mike Shorland from Rull Orchard Cider, Devon. For our January club tasting he returns along with Jack Toy of the online Cider Review magazine and his neighbour Paul Morris.
Chapel Sider, Seven Trees Cider and Rull Orchard are now well established.
At this first Cider Club of 2025, James Finch will introduce a tasting of some of his Chapel Siders and Jack and Paul will share their stories of their first steps of cider making and give us an opportunity to taste some of their first products.
We will be tasting 8 different ciders/perries:
Chapel Sider
– Awakening
– Redstreak
– Paddock Orchard
Hoe Hill
– Weardracca
– Baumber Wildings
Toye’s Cider
– 2 ciders and 1 perry
Tickets are priced at £20 inclusive of cheese plates!
Please select ‘Collection from Mcr Cider Club’ if you’re attending in person as there are no physical tickets.
