We’re always thrilled to be able to work with fruit from Annie and Norman at Dragon Orchard in Putley. In 2022 the Kingston Black they picked for us was of the highest quality.
Great fruit needs only the simplest handling in the cidery. Spontaneous fermentation, a couple of rackings to help clarification and to encourage some sweetness, before bottling as a pet nat.
Vibrant gold with a creamy sparkle, the aromatics are gorgeous – warm apple pie, vanilla, honey and the subtle scent of violets. In the mouth, it’s velvety plush with noticeable residual sweetness and it’s mouth wateringly juicy and fresh. Crunchy yellow apples, caramelised peaches, baking spice and runny honey all framed by apricot fuzz tannins.
Enjoy this with sticky ribs straight from the barbecue or with a hunk of salty blue cheese. Serve chilled 7C. Gluten free. Vegan. 750ml. 7.7%.
